Privacy Policy
Last updated : July 17, 2026
Gymmy is an iOS workout note-taking app, published by Nicolas Pancin ("we"). This policy explains what data is collected, why, and what your rights are. Gymmy's principle is simple: your data belongs to you, and it is never sold or shared for advertising purposes.
1. Data we collect
Account data. When you create an account: your email address and, depending on the method you choose (Sign in with Apple, Google, email), a sign-in identifier provided by that service. First name, last name, age and sex are optional and only stored if you choose to provide them.
Training content. The exercises you create, your sessions (sets, weights, reps, duration, feeling, comments), your routines, your calendar events (rest, illness…) and your preferences. This is the core of the service: this data is stored so we can give it back to you.
Photos and videos. The media you attach to your exercises is stored locally on your device. Only their metadata (file name, linked exercise, date) is synced with your account.
Usage and stability data.Anonymized usage events (e.g. "session completed") via Google Analytics for Firebase, and crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics, to improve the app.
Subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
2. What we don't do
- No selling or renting of your data.
- No advertising, so no ad profiling.
- No reading of your photo library: the app only accesses the media you explicitly pick.
3. Where your data is stored
Account and training data is hosted on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), with which we have a GDPR- compliant data processing agreement. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
4. Third-party services
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database, analytics, crash reports.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- Google Sign-In: signing in with a Google account, if you choose it.
- Spotify (optional): if you connect Spotify for the Drop feature, the app communicates with the Spotify app on your phone. We never store your Spotify password.
5. Retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Your history stays viewable even without a subscription.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You can access, rectify or delete your data at any time. Account deletion is built into the app (Settings → Delete my account): it permanently erases your account and all your data from our servers. For any other request (access, portability, rectification), write to us: we answer within 30 days.
7. Minors
Gymmy is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about children.
8. Changes
This policy may evolve with the app. In case of significant change, you will be informed in the app. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page.
